‘I will be president for all South Africans' – Ramaphosa after election in National Assembly

The South African President was elected unopposed by the National Assembly on Wednesday 22nd May 2019. This was the 6th Democratic Parliament of the Republic. “I will seek to act and be the president of all South Africans, and not just those who voted for the party I lead,” Ramaphosa said.
The newly elected president said that the composition of the National Assembly reflects the will of the people of South Africa. He further asserted that he is honoured and humbled to be elected to serve the people of South Africa, and that he will be a president for all South Africans.
