A recent report presented to the Third United Nations Conference on Least Developed Countries (LDSs), highlighted tourism’s potential for contributing to poverty reduction in LDCs. The report includes details of the various challenges to poverty reduction, for example the high proportion of economic leakages suffered by LDCs and a lack of commitment by the private sector.
