Corporate Social Investment and NGO Sector
Tuesday, August 29, 2006 – 09:04
As a means of understanding Corporate Social Investment in South Africa and it implications for the NGO sector, Bruno Van Dyk of the University of KwaZulu-Natal Foundation speaks to this very issue.
In his power point presentation, he provides statistics that illustrate that CSI donations in SA have increased substantially between 2003 and 2005. Since the year 2003, the donations resulting from CSI have increased by 10.4%. As a result of this increase, Van Dyk argue that sector charters will increase available funding, going on to say that it is up to the Executive Management to find their own competitive advantage that will attract CSI’s.
