Nonprofit Online News, October 2005

When grantmaker W.K. Kellogg Foundation released their revised website at the beginning of 2005, there was already a distribution medium in use and the organisation was opposed to developing an additional set of processes for unique content generation, preferreing to derive content from existing initiatives. The foundation is now using RSS to syndicate content from various streams of information, including program news and new grants made.

Michael Gilbert’s article describes the step-by-step, six part procedure used in this project for assessing online content and making it available in RSS, so that it can be subscribed to by people using newsreaders and built upon by online aggregators.

Visit the Nonprofit Online News website and read this useful study, which provides plenty of tips and methods for rolling out an RSS channel for your NGO website..
