In the last few months, the NGO Pulse has been publishing current important things happening in South Africa. Once again, we are happy to present the following as
what is happening in and affecting South Africa today:
- The ratings agency, Moody’s predicts that it is likely that South Africa will keep its current credit rating for the remainder of the year.
- Former president Jacob Zuma has defaulted on the repayments on the loan he took from VBS.
- The Naspers group, a media giant, is listing all of its internet businesses in Amsterdam.
- Criminality is cited – by government – as a driving force behind the recent violent attacks against foreign nationals in South Africa.
- The rand firmed on Tuesday, thanks to improved investor appetite for riskier assets and comments from ratings agency Moody’s.
