Xenophobia Discussed at SADC

South Africa has continued to face questions about the recent xenophobic violence directed at African immigrants

South Africa has continued to face questions about the recent xenophobic violence directed at African immigrants.

The issue was raised during a discussion on migration on the side-lines of the 37th Session of the South African Development Community (SADC) Parliamentary Forum meeting in Durban.

Member of the Malawian Parliament, Dr Jessie Kabwila, remains concerned that the violence has taken place twice now: “I think this question has to be asked and I for one, no matter how many people tell me how I'm welcome here, the truth of the matter is some of us politically, it was a problem to come here.”
