The Botswana government says it cannot afford to provide foreign inmates with antiretroviral drugs (ARVs) due to budget constraints.
 
The Botswana Court of Appeals has reserved judgment on a case in which the Botswana government appealed a high court ruling to provide foreign prisoners with anti-retrovirals (ARV’s).
 
The case includes a demand by an HIV positive Zimbabwean prisoner to be released, due to failure by the government to provide him with ARV’s.
