Christel House South Africa needs your help to donate Buckets of Hope for needy students.
Help fill tummies and bring smiles to needy children this festive season by sponsoring Buckets of Hope. Christel House South Africa, a non-profit no-fee school in Ottery (Cape Town), enrolls students from some of the poorest communities on the Cape Flats. Every December, the school provides its most destitute students with a food bucket consisting of non-perishable goods and a few extra treats to help them through the December school holiday.
1 Bucket of Hope = R200
2 Buckets of Hope = R400
3 Buckets of Hope = R600
The main criterion for admission to Christel House is not evidence of talent but evidence of poverty, one measure of which is a maximum average income of R1,500 per household member per month.
“During school, all our students receive daily nutritious meals and snacks, so the holiday period is always a concern for us. With the extended 6-week December holiday coming up and the devastating impact that COVID-19 has had this year, we are very concerned for our most vulnerable families. We are kindly asking the public to help us raise R80,000 to allow us to distribute 400 Buckets of Hope to our neediest families before the holiday break of 15 December,” says Francois Louw, Director: Fundraising and Marketing.
Every donation counts and all South African donors will receive a Section 18A tax-deductible certificate for their contribution. Businesses can also earn BEE points for their donations as a 100% of Christel House students are Black (as per the government definition).
