HOC:Grounds Supervisor

Hands of Compassion is a Christian Community based in Johannesburg. It was founded in February 1987 by Ps Alan and Ps Xana McCauley.  The emphasis is on Recovery, Restoration and Reconciliation.James 2:17 So you see, faith by itself isn’t enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.

Hands of Compassion is a Christian NPO looking for a Grounds Supervisor to be based in The Ground Supervisor is required to live at HOC.

Basic Salary: R 9,500 per month

Start Date: Immediate

Contract Type: Permanent contract – with a 6-month probation period

Responsibilities:

• The maintenance and upkeep of HOC grounds
• Daily supervising and management of the program residents working on the grounds
• The oversight and maintenance of HOC security systems and liaison with outsourced security company
• The oversight and maintenance of the water and sewer systems
• Oversee and maintain potted plants, gardens, agriculture tunnels and herb gardens
• Coordinate all waste and refuse removal

Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license is essential.
• Matric is essential
• English and at least one other South African language is essential

Experience required:

• A Minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a grounds supervisor including oversight and management staff/teams

Computer Literacy Required:

• Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook – Intermediate level is essential
