StartingBloc is excited to share that its  global Fellowship program, is launching their first-ever institute out of the USA from 25-29 March 2020 at the prestigious the African Leadership Academy Campus in Johannesburg. Many social entrepreneurs, employees and students from the African continent, Canada, India and USA have already been accepted for this institute. 10 more spots are still available, only for this month. 

The StartingBloc Institute is a five-day immersive experience that serves as the onboarding experience into the lifelong StartingBloc Fellowship, now at 3100 Fellows across 56 countries. The institute which will be facilitated by world-class facilitators from around world will cover topics such as: Social Entrepreneurship, transformative Justice / Restorative Justice, design Thinking / Human Centered Design, climate Justice, food Systems / renewable energy, systems thinking, storytelling, tech & Innovation for Social Change, activism & Civic Engagement.
StartingBloc Fellows are leaders who tend to be:

  • Professionals or Entrepreneurs working within the social impact, nonprofit, or social entrepreneurship sectors
  • High potential leaders who have already demonstrated their capacity to make a broader impact but perhaps lack the global community or network they need to really move their work forward. 

Speakers, facilitators and mentors of high calibre from Nelson Mandela Foundation, Acumen, Further and IDEA set to take part in this institute. This includes Sello Hatang - CEO of Nelson Mandela Foundation, Kristine Sloan - CEO of StartingBloc, Gcina Mhlope - Anti Apartheid activist, poet and story-teller, Ian Calvert - Founder of Further, Director Red Bull Amaphiko, Wale Ajiboye - Associate Director Acumen West Africa, Dene Botha - Founder Pride Factor, TV Personality & entrepreneur, Kitawa Wemo - Founder MAMA Ventures & Ed, IDEO Facilitator Kenya and six great mentors from the USA and Africa.
