CWSA (Child Welfare South Africa) is an umbrella body representing 164 child welfare affiliates, 30 developing organisations, 25 outreach projects and 206 communities. Collectively we reach about 2 million children, their families and caregivers. Consisting of 1200 staff members and 3500 volunteers. The organisation’s objectives are protecting the children in our country from all kinds of abuse, making a difference in the lives of children, establishing networks and partnerships to ensure the safeguarding of our children, being a credible, professional body for child protection and providing support and guidance to our Member Organisations.

Child Welfare South Africa Sasolburg seeks to appoint two Registered Social Workers to be based in Bloemfontein.

The social worker will render a comprehensive service to the communities in Sasolburg, Free State. Service delivery focuses on prevention, early intervention, family preservative and statutory work within the developmental approach. The social worker will also be responsible for implantation and monitoring of various projects and programmes of the organisation.


  • Applicable BA Social Work Qualification
  • Registration with SACSSP is compulsory
  • A valid drivers’ license and the ability to drive a light vehicle is compulsory
  • Extensive and practical experience of the Children’s Act, regulations and other applicable legislation
  • Ability to speak more than one South African language is also an added advantage
