The Multiple Sclerosis Society Inland Branch (MSSA)
The Multiple Sclerosis Society Inland Branch (MSSA) envisions the opening of an MS Specific centre,that would ideally have a multidisciplinary team in place, to meet the needs of persons with MS (PwMS), in a holistic manner. The central aim of such a centre would be to assist the people with MS to live and cope positively with MS. For people with MS to have improved quality of life by promoting physical, psychological, spiritual, emotional, social and economic well being. MSSA Hopes for a cure to MS will be found. MSSA Inland mission is to serve the MS community with the aim of empowering and improving the quality of life of People with MS and their loved ones and to promote their well-being.
MSSA is calling for applications from business, academic and/or civic leaders to become its additional members to its Board of Directors.
The successful candidate will be passionate about development issues, in particular in contributing to holistic, scalable and high-impact shelter-related solutions for the poor.
The Successful candidates are legally responsible for ensuring good governance and oversight of the organisation. Contributing as members of the various Board Sub-Committees sees Board members spending perhaps 10-20 hours per month on MSSA INLAND work, as well as attending Monthly Board Meetings (held Saturday) which are generally held at MSSA Inland offices in Sophiatown Johannesburg.
MSSA Inland is particularly interested in dynamic candidates who are based in Gauteng and have proven expertise in one or more of the following areas: business leadership, networking and fundraising, community development and finance.
Board Members serve on the MSSA Inland Board without remuneration, although the organisation covers out-of-pocket expenses.
