Yabonga is an NGO that works to create an effective, sustainable model of care that provides education, support and skills development in order to empower HIV positive women and men to effect positive change in the lives of their children, families and in the communities where they live, based on the principles of positive living, personal development and income generation.

Yabonga seeks to appoint a Web Developer, based in Cape Town.

The Web Developer will responsible for the coding, innovative design and layout of our website. The person will build our website from concept all the way to completion from the bottom up, fashioning everything from the home page to site layout and function

This is a short-term contract website developer to design Yabonga website using Word-Press or Joomla.

Responsibilities:

  • Create site layout/user interface by using standard HTML/CSS practices;
  • Integrate data from various back-end services and databases;
  • Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs;
  • Create and maintain software documentation;
  • Be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling our site

Requirements:

  • Proven working experience in web programming;
  • Top-notch programming skills and in-depth knowledge of modern HTML/CSS;
  • Solid understanding of how web applications work -Aggressive problem diagnosis and creative problem solving skills;
  • Strong organisational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines and budgets with business acumen;
  • BS in computer science or a related field.
