Quote of the week
""Politicians in the US are using the strength of an entire nation to come after a private company,” Song notes. “This is not normal. Almost never seen in history. The US government has provided no evidence to show that Huawei is a security threat. There is no gun, no smoke, only speculation""

SITA cracks whip on Gauteng Broadband Network project
A report by ITWeb that the implementation of the multibillion-rand Gauteng Broadband Network (GBN) project was at risk of extended delays following allegations of corruption and non-compliance. These complaints prompted the State Information Technology Agency (SITA) to demand answers from Altron Nexus.
Some of the key demands of the GBN contract are that 40% of work should be awarded to Gauteng-based small businesses in the five regions of the province: the City of Johannesburg, Ekurhuleni, Tshwane, West Rand and Sedibeng. However, SMEs claim that this was not done, and that they were sidelined from the R2,8 billion project.
This move is one of Trump’s trade war moves against China which saw the US setting or increasing tariffs on many categories of goods imported from China.
