A Global Campaign for Agrarian Reform has been launched at the World Social Forum (WSF) in response to the controversial land reform programmes adopted in South Africa (SA) and Zimbabwe.
Civil society activists gathered at the WSF have criticised the land reform policies adopted by the SA government, saying that they result in many poor people being denied access to livelihoods. They argued that more radical reforms are necessary.
