Publicly and Privately Managed Schools for SA

The CDE explores the option of cultivating contract schools to boost South Africa’s education system

The Centre for Development and Enterprise (CDE) is exploring the option of cultivating contract schools to boost the education system in South Africa.

The organisation states that publicly funded schools that are privately managed in South Africa’s education system could significantly benefit poor and failing pupils.

CDE executive director, Ann Bernstein, points out that, “Government provides funding and clearly defined goals for pupils and private providers to come up with innovative ways of delivering schooling to them.”
