NYDA Prioritises Poverty Alleviation and Jobs

The NYDA says that its role is to create coordination in matters of youth development and initiate programmes aimed at poverty alleviation and job creation

The National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) says that its role is to create coordination in matters of youth development and initiate programmes aimed at poverty alleviation and job creation.

NYDA chairperson, Yershen Pillay, points out that since its inception in 2009, the agency helps in linking policy and legislative change with the development of products, programmes and services and implementation thereof.

Programmes such as the Youth Unemployment Accord have been set into place by the agency and act as a blueprint that brings together all the relevant stakeholders, such as business and government.
