NMF and Partners Launch Rural Education Institute

UNICEF, 7 August 2007.

A partnership between the Nelson Mandela Foundation (NMF), Fort Hare University and the Eastern Cape government has led to the establishment of the Nelson Mandela Institute for Education and Rural Development.

The institute is aimed at providing education for all of South Africa's children, especially children from rural areas. It will provide leadership training for both learners and teachers in rural areas, as well as development research for disadvantaged areas.
