SANGONeT, 5 February 2007.
Connect Africa has been awarded a grant by the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) to rollout ICT services to poor communities in rural Limpopo.
The grant, which has been facilitated by the Southern Africa Aids Trust, was approved by the Bank last November and it will be used for engaging government departments on a project to assist in the delivery of their services in that province.
Connect Africa's new mobile units, consisting of a double cab bakkie (pick-up) or van with trailer, both fully fitted with phones, fax, printing, copying, computing and web browsing services, will visit rural villages on a regular weekly basis. These units will have direct access to each of the Government Departments and a rota of officials will accompany the vehicle.
Visit the Connect Africa for further details.
