FODEP Executive Director Resigns

FODEP executive director resigns from his position as spokesperson of the Grand Coalition on the campaign for a new Constitution in Zambia.

Outgoing Foundation for Democratic Process (FODEP) executive director, MacDonald Chipenzi, has resigned from his position as spokesperson of the Grand Coalition on the campaign for a new Constitution in Zambia.

Chipenzi, who also quit as the vice-chairperson of the Council of NGOs in Zambia, says despite his resignation, he remains committed to the two causes’ reform of the NGO Act no. 16 of 2009 and campaign for a new people-driven Constitution and enactment of the expanded Bill of Rights.

He says that he will continue to fight for an enabling operating environment for civil society and NGOs in Zambia, and urged all civil society organisations in Zambia to continue with the campaign for a user-friendly NGO Act and support the current reform efforts to the `NGO Act no. 16 of 2009 while casting an ‘eagle’s eye’ on the process.
