HEARD: Research Internship

Health Economic and HIV/AIDS Research Division (HEARD) is a self-funded, applied research unit based at the University of KwaZulu-Natal in Durban. HEARD conducts a range of research-from pure to applied- seeking to support all those intent on designing interventions to reduce the HIV pandemic in all sectors  in  the  SADC and East Africa region. Its research agenda is driven by current issues and is aimed at producing knowledge and evidence critical to informed policies and actions.

MRC Fundraise to Expand Services

Parliament hears that the Medical Research Council (MRC) is going on a fundraising drive in the private sector to appeal to big business and philanthropists to augment its funds so it can do bigger and better science.

The MRC has a total budget of R730 million for the current fiscal year, R391 million comes from the Treasury, and the rest from contract funding sourced from organisations such as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the United States National Institutes of Health.

Information Training & Outreach Centre for Africa (ITOCA) is a nonprofit organisation that strives to build skills in the ICT/ICM disciplines working with higher education, development and research institutions in Sub-Saharan Africa.

ITOCA seeks to appoint a Fundraising Officer, based in Centurion, South Africa.

The Manager will be responsible for fundraising on behalf of the organisation. The Manager will develop strategies and set goals to achieve fundraising targets.

This a two years contract with the possibility of renewal based on performance.
