NALEDI: Senior Research and Programme Manager

Afro-Middle East Centre: Research Interns

The Afro-Middle East Centre (AMEC) is a research institute established in 1998 to conduct research mainly on the Middle East and North Africa region. The institute activities include publications, conferences, seminars, and other events, and production of policy recommendations.

AMEC seeks to appoint two Research Interns, based in Johannesburg.

The two interns will be provided with the opportunity to gain work experience in a research environment, and will given stipends to cover their expenses.Internship programme will range from three to six months.

Research Focuses on Causes of Violence

The Organ on National Healing, Reconciliation and Integration (ONHRI), a civil society organisation, says it will by mid-next year finalise a comprehensive research on the history of conflicts in Zimbabwe.

Led by Midlands State University vice-chancellor, Professor Ngwabi Bhebhe, the research seeks to establish if Zimbabweans are ‘naturally or culturally violent’ following cases of political violence in the past elections.
