The Pebbles Project Trust: Project Coordinator

The Pebbles Project Trust is a registered nonprofit organisation that supports children, families and communities on the wine farms in and around Stellenbosch and Wellington. The work of Pebbles consists of five main pillars: education, health, nutrition, protection and environment.

The Pebbles Project Trust seeks to appoint a Project Coordinator based in Stellenbosch.

This is a one-year renewable fixed term contract based on funding and performance. This is a full day position (08h00 – 17h00), five days per week.

Social Franchising for ECD: Field Support Project Manager

Social Franchising for ECD (SFECD) is a new project spearheaded by the DG Murray Trust, together with other donors committed to early childhood development, which was launched in May 2014. It aims to reach children at scale by increasing access to early learning opportunities through informal playgroups and early learning programmes.

Catholic Welfare and Development: Director

Catholic Welfare and Development (CWD) is a leading and dynamic social development organisation working with vulnerable and marginalised communities in order to improve their chances to develop and sustain self-reliance. With programmes encompassing skills development, ECD capacity building, trauma and healing, feeding schemes, counselling and crisis relief and a solid network of community centres as well as partners, CWD is well placed to serve beneficiaries.

CWD seeks to appoint a Director, based in Cape Town.

This is a half-day position (08h00-13h00), five days per week.

Catholic Welfare and Development: Finance Manager

Catholic Welfare and Development (CWD) is a leading and dynamic social development organisation based in Cape Town, working with vulnerable and marginalised communities in order to improve their ability to develop and sustain self-reliance. The CWD's early childhood development (ECD) programme provides support and training to informal crèches in impoverished communities in the Western Cape.

The CWD seeks to appoint a Finance Manager, based in in Green Point, Cape Town.

Pebbles Project: Nutrition Programme Manager

The Pebbles Project Trust is a registered NPO that supports children, families and communities on the wine farms in and around Stellenbosch and Wellington.  The work of Pebbles has five main pillars:  education, health, nutrition, protection and environment. 

The Pebbles Project Trust seeks to employ a Nutrition Programme Manager, based in Stellenbosch.   

This is a twelve-month renewable contract based on performance.  This is a full day position (07h00 - 16h00).

The Power and Point of Reading Aloud to Children

My favourite time all the way through school was at the end of a day, when our English teacher would say, “Put everything away, put your heads on your desks, shut your eyes and listen.” Then we would travel in our minds through the vivid worlds of storybook authors, sometimes familiar and sometimes strange, but always carried by the familiar and accomplished rhythm of our teacher’s reading voice.
