South African History Archive: Training and Community Liaison Officer - Freedom of Information Programme

South African History Archive (SAHA) is an independent human rights archive committed to documenting and raising awareness of past struggles against apartheid, as well as ongoing struggles in the making of democracy in South Africa. In line with this central mission, SAHA's Freedom of Information Programme (FOIP), launched in 2001, is dedicated to using the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2000 (PAIA) to extend the boundaries of access to information in South Africa by:

Treatment Action Campaign: Resource Mobilisation Manager

The Treatment Action Campaign (TAC) engages in monitoring, advocacy and campaigning within the health system to ensure that every person with HIV has access to quality comprehensive prevention, treatment, care and support services to live a healthy life.

TAC seeks to appoint a Resource Mobilisation Manager, based in Cape Town, but will require regular travel to Johannesburg and some travel to other parts of the country.

The person will be an energetic, pro-active individual with a passion for social justice to lead the organisation’s resource mobilisation team.  

Treatment Action Campaign: Finance Officer - Payments

The Treatment Action Campaign (TAC) engages in monitoring, advocacy and campaigning within the health system to ensure that every person with HIV has access to quality comprehensive prevention, treatment, care and support services to live a healthy life.

TAC seeks to appoint a Finance Officer - Payments, based at the National Office in Cape Town.

The South African History Archive (SAHA) is an independent human rights archive committed to recapturing lost and neglected histories, documenting past struggles against apartheid, as well as ongoing struggles in the making of democracy in South Africa. In line with this central mission, SAHA is dedicated to using the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2000 (PAIA) to extend the boundaries of access to information in South Africa.

SAHA seeks to recruit an Intern for the Archival Programme, based in Johannesburg.

With members in more than 170 branches located across seven provinces, and offices with staff in each key province, TAC is a social movement campaigning to bring about improved policy and implementation in the public sector at national, provincial and local level.

TAC seeks to appoint a Bookkeeper, based in Khayelitsha, Cape Town.

Zim Faces Challenges With Combatting TB

Health experts warn that Zimbabwe is facing challenges in eliminating tuberculosis (TB).

The experts call for a much greater integration of HIV and TB programmes within the healthcare system.

According to Michael Bartos, Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS country director for Zimbabwe, tremendous progress has been made in minimising the spread of HIV while TB programming is weak in comparison.
