Responding to Conflict (RTC) is conducting a five-day course on Peacebuilding: Strengthening Policy and Practice from 17-21 November 2008 in Birmingham, UK.
Peacebuilding: Strengthening Policy and Practice is designed to assist participants to identify constructive ways of engaging with the unpredictable and rapidly changing circumstances within which many relief and development agencies work. It focuses on the relationship between policy and practice in complex situations.
Social Enterprise: A New Model for Poverty Reduction and Employment Generation is a report that finds that traditional development initiatives in post-communist states often focus on bolstering the private sector or the state, while ignoring organisations that combine for-profit activities with social aims. The report suggests a number of ways to promote social enterprises in transition countries.
