Connectivity in gaming
In the past, multiplayer games needed to be played on the same console and so often, they were a social activity for siblings and any friends who may come over to visit. However, as more people started to get their own consoles, they started staying home a lot more and playing against AIs or bots in games. This resulted in more games that could be played by single players which did have its benefits at the time, especially for those living alone.
